Many people think that to lose weight, diet alone is all that is required, and that exercise is for people wanting to get fit. This is not true. Diet and exercise go hand in hand. But, are there any recommended combinations? A restrictive diet can hinder exercise and fitness improvements. If you are weight training, what do you eat? When do you eat? How much do you eat? How often do you eat?
Little and often is a good way to approach eating. Bodybuilders eat at least once every four hours. Small meals eaten more often are easier to digest and keep the metabolism up. Remember, the human digestive tract has not had time to evolve in pace with our changing society. Humans used to eat small meals often, almost graze. Imagine gorillas in the mist, chewing leaves and fruits and bugs. That's how we should eat. Small meals, absorb maximum nutrients, rest, exercise, consume more.
