Fitness Activities and Goals
- My Profile
My goal is to lose 15kg by December. I want this to be a lifelong change, and not a diet. However, I want to jumpstart this lifestyle change by getting rid of excess fat and increasing my metabolism.
That is my long term. My short term goal is to run a 5k Dove Marathon in August.
I have been training on the treadmill, but I want to practice more outdoors,where the terrain is more difficult.- Weekly Routine
Every day, I start out with about 20-40 minutes of medium-high intensity cardio with the bike. I try to burn at least 300 calories on the bike, since the bike is great for burning calories and toning the tighs. Then, I jump into the treadmill. I use the treadmill for training, because jogging doesn't burn as many calories and it's more pressure on the knees, hence more opportunities for injuries. But it's a great test of endurance and really feels like a workout afterwards.
I have been running 5k on the treadmill, and power walking about 1k.
Then after, I go into weight training: arm extensions, curls, pulls, dumbells, leg extensions, curls, etc. I do about 20kgs in most of the weights. I don't keep log of the amount of reps and sets. I should.
- Personal Bests
I outdid myself a few days ago. I didn't think I could run 5k straight without stopping, as I have never did that. Hence, the challenge of running a 5k marathon.
However, when I reached 2.5k ( my goal), I decided to push myself further and see how much I could really run without stopping. Lo and behold, I reached 5k in under 40 min.That was a real euphoric experience. I just couldn't stop. If I didn't have other plans, I may have gone further. I really had a runner's high. I thank God for the endurance that I didn't know I had.
Since that day, I have been running 5ks. No less. Hopefully, I can increase, not only my speed, but my distance.
I ran 5k, in 39 minutes, running 7.7km per hour.
- Interests
I love the outdoors. Now, I train in the gym b/c it's right around the corner and the outside of Seoul is polluted, crowded, loud, etc.
I don't own a TV, so the gym gives me the chance to see what's on and popping in the TV world while running/biking.I love sports, such as soccer, basketball, badminton, etc. I'd rather get all my cardio in thru sports, but it's not practical on a daily basis.
