Fitness Activities and Goals

Weekly Routine

As of June 19, 2009 I will be doing a sort of "practice period" of the acclaimed P90X program. Because I will be going on a 5 day vacation June 29th, it's a bad time to start such an intense program. Up until the 29th, I will do the "Classic" Workout Plan (Week 1) and follow the "Level 1" nutrition program for Phase I. Once I go on my vacation, I plan on following the "Level 1" nutrition plan as closely as possible, and working out daily. Then, when I return I will follow the P90X program more strictly (as follows)!

My Profile

Hello! I'm 24 years old living in the Philadelphia area. I'm used to being in shape my entire life and living a very active lifestyle as a dance teacher. However, about 6 months ago, I broke up with my on-again-off-again boyfriend of 6 years and REALLY packed on quite a few pounds in a short amount of time. Breaking up with my ex meant going out and socializing more, which in turn meant eating and drinking much more than I did when I was spending quiet evenings at home with my BF. I'm ready to both enjoy my new found independence and active social life as well as attain a lean, fit, and healthy body.

Currently, my weight and measurements don't put me in the category of "overweight" but I'm darn close. I've also noticed that I just feel more sluggish and more self-conscious about my body (mainly tummy and arms). In the past I've tried literally starving to lose weight and have found that to be a "recipe" for disaster (pardon the pun), leaving me looking unhealthy and feeling crappy. This time, I want to look good, feel good, and be healthy!

Interests

I am a dance teacher, teaching Classical Ballet and Jazz classes to ages 3 to adult. I work as a 1:1 teacher's assistant at a private special education school, working with a 5 year old boy who has developmental, learning, and senory difficulties. I am a full-time student at Rowan University studying to receive two degrees, one in Elementary Education and one in Writing Arts. I would also like to eventually be certified in Special Education.

Outside of my professional and student life, I enjoy reading, handing out with friends and family, the beach/ocean, working out, music, etc.
